SAFE MINISTRY TO THE VULNERABLE

Summer Hill Church takes seriously our responsibility for the vulnerable to whom we minister. All leaders of our children’s and youth ministry comply with Safe Ministry training and requirements.

Claudia Sharkawy is our registered Safe Ministry Representative. We will soon have a link on this page for communicating with Claudia directly about safe ministry concerns at Summer Hill Church.

DOMESTIC ABUSE & MAKING A SAFE CHURCH COMMUNITY

The Sydney Diocese has urged all churches to adopt a local Domestic Abuse policy so that all members can be confident about the help available, and their safety in seeking it.

You can download our DOMESTIC ABUSE POLICY here.

Summer Hill Church has appointed Kat as our Safety Advocate. She has been trained in identifying domestic/family abuse, and connecting people with the help they need. She keeps our Parish Council informed about best policy & practice, and is also available to speak with those who have friends, or are themselves, grappling with this issue. We are currently exploring how people can safely reach out to us for help. If you are facing a difficult situation, or are yourself struggling to act safely toward others, you can reach out immediately for help via the links in the next section on this web page.
